Antarctica
I am on the dark water of the Antarctic seas, on a blue ice floe… tonnes of frozen water, carving with an axe a transparent sphere, when the winds allowed it and the sea grew quiet… The clouds, vapour of the same water — "rivers of the sky" — moved in the air, with the frost and hail. The frozen water was the support of my sculpture, the movable matter of my sculpture, at the same time the support of my feet. The water, at 20 degrees below zero, was this time the hard material of my sculpture.
